In this tutorial, we get and then customize the poster template in Google Docs.
So, there is often something you want to tell publicly and make it notable: for example, some events, promotion of the service(s), announcements, etc. And for that, the poster needs to be bright and attention-grabbing. And if you are not a graphic designer and you don’t want to contact the professional designers or design companies now, but you want to have the poster in as little time as possible, there is a perfect idea with the templates. Thankfully, we have lots of time-saving templates for various occasions, and all the templates are really easy to use. Get the template from the web and edit it according to your requirements, tasks, ideas, etc. Here, in this tutorial, we’re getting a poster template in Google Docs from the web and then editing it.
Watch the video from https://thegoodocs.com/ and find out how to get and use poster templates in Google Docs:
NB! We will choose a sample poster template just to basically show you how you can customize it. There is a vast number of poster templates with various structures, designs, etc. So, you can always select the most optimal poster templates for you.
NB! Please note that we apply all the customization absolutely randomly with the aim of showing you how to use particular options in Google Docs to make a poster from a template here. And you customize your poster template according to your tasks, requirements, ideas, etc.
First up, make sure you are signed in to your Google Account.
- The simplest way to check that is to go to https://www.google.com/, and on the Google homepage, at the top right corner, check if there is your profile picture or an icon with a person if you don’t have your profile picture. This means you are signed in. So, then you can skip this part
Now let’s customize this poster template a bit. This poster template is quite laconic and it's meant to be modified as little as possible. The principle is to choose the template exactly for your occasion.
- So, what you can do here: first of all, you can change the text and insert the information you need. So, we can change the date here. Then you can change the name of the poster. And then the main text here. You can clear this sample text and then copy the prepared text and paste it here. You can change the text color, formatting, font style, etc.
- The image doesn’t fit well now and let’s fix that: go to the bottom of the image and on this little bar, click on last but one item (“In front of text”), and that just put it over the text. And then click on the next item (“Move with text”) and select “Fix position on page”. Ok, now let’s drag the image back to the poster and decrease it — just pull either of the squares around the image. And now let us place the image better
But this image needs some more customization in order to look better here.
That’s it, just some basic customization. So, you can continue the customization process.
NB! When you select the image, you can look at other options on the bar below the image and apply what you need. And please remember to select the image when you start customizing it.
NB! This is just a bit of random customization so that you may use these as well as additional options to customize the poster template as you need.
We hope this tutorial will help you learn how to get and use poster templates in Google Docs. Good luck!
